I’m a heart specialist in Oxford, providing tailored care for patients with heart disease. My approach combines comprehensive clinical assessment and diagnostics to ensure we reach the correct diagnosis to offer the most effective treatment plans, always putting the patient at the centre of care.
About me
I’m a Consultant Cardiologist and heart specialist in Oxford at with extensive experience in all aspects of general cardiology, including the assessment and management of chest pain, angina, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness, and high blood pressure. My subspecialist interests include valvular heart disease, advanced echocardiography and cardiac CT.Â
I hold my private practice at The Nuffield Manor Hospital in Oxford where I see patients with a full spectrum of heart conditions. My specialist interest is in valvular and structural heart disease and advanced cardiac imaging. My NHS practice is at Oxford University Hospitals where I lead the echocardiography service, manage patients with a full range of cardiac conditions, and work as part of the Structural Heart Team. In this role, I diagnose and manage patients with complex structural and valvular heart disease.
I take a personalised approach to medicine, balancing individual patient values with clinical evidence and the full range of available treatment options, so that any decisions we make are the right ones for you.
Training and Qualifications
I graduated with honours in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2009. Following medical rotations in Manchester and London, I trained in cardiology in Northwest London, based at the internationally renowned Hammersmith Hospital.
I hold a PhD from King’s College London and have authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. I lecture both nationally and internationally and am involved with medical training and education at Oxford University Hospitals.
I have advanced expertise across the full range of cardiac imaging modalities, including transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE), stress echocardiography, and cardiac CT, and hold accreditations with the British Society of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
